That’s the motto at Hernando’s Pizza Pub in Winter Park Colorado.
A long-standing tradition of visitors and locals, Hernando’s Pizza Pub has served delicious pizza to Winter Park Colorado since 1967.
Hernando’s started as a labor of love for Jerry and Anne Von Dracek, back when Winter Park was named “Hideaway Park”. Hernando’s gets its name from the Broadway Musical Pajama Game, where the theme song was Hernando’s Hideaway.
On December 1, 2018, 29 years to the day after Jeff and Kimber purchased the restaurant, Cowboy, and Ellen purchased Hernando’s for themselves. Cowboy, a 22 year veteran of Hernando’s, is excited to continue the same traditions and high-quality food.
Pizza
There’s a different style of pizza for everyone at Hernando’s… Hernando’s Traditional Pizza is a classic pie made with zesty pizza sauce on homemade dough then topped with Mozzarella cheese.
Roma Style Pizza features a fresh marinated mixture of virgin olive oil, with fresh basil and minced garlic on homemade dough, layered with sliced Italian Roma tomatoes and topped with Mozzarella cheese.
Simone Garlic Pie features olive oil with fresh basil, extra garlic, double cheese, and black pepper.
The dough is made fresh daily by Hernando’s chefs, and you can choose between hand tossed options of whole wheat or white and rolled or thin crust.
For those with gluten allergies, there is also a 10” gluten-free crust available. Additionally, there are several vegetarian options.
You can also build your own pizza, in 10 or 14 inches. Choose up to 5 toppings and your own cheese.
Hernando’s also offers a great range of specialty pizzas, including the Supreme (Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers), Hawaiian (Ham, almonds, pineapple), Jerry’s, Vegetarian, Sonoma, Column 1, Bar-B-Que (Chicken, Red Onion, Cilantro & a drizzle of BBQ sauce), Scampi, Alfredo, Pesto, and Mediterranean (Spinach, Feta, red onion, sausage and pepperoni).
Starters
Want to start with something fresh and light? No problem, try a Mountain Minestrone soup, a Green Garden Salad, Antipasto Salad, Greek Salad, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Cheesy Garlic Bread, or Buffalo Wings.
Pub pasta is also available, including spaghetti, jumbo cheese ravioli, meat ravioli, rigatoni, ravs and rigs (a combination of rigatoni and ravioli), tortelli, linguini and clam sauce, lasagna, vegetarian lasagna, fettuccine, baked rigatoni, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine alfredo.
