The Head Chef, Alberto Sapien, has created a diverse and delicious menu of locally-sourced foods that are perfect for anyone who’s spent the day enjoying Winter Park.
Alberto Sapien, a Denver Colorado naive, has a prestigious resume that shows in his work. An apprentice at the Denver Country Club to a Certified Master Chef, the former Executive Chef at the Denver Country Club, the former Executive Chef at the Denver Petroleum Club, Executive Chef at the Ranch House at Devil’s THumb Ranch, the Sjed, and Untamed Steakhouse.
Since then, Alberto opened the Tabernash Tavern with partner David McKnight in June 2008, which became an immediate favorite of locals and tourists.
The Denver 5280 Magazine-featured chef has created an incredible menu with a wide-ranging set of choices, compiled from delicious traditional plates and dishes from all over the world.
The diverse menu includes a top-selection of international favorites, such as USDA Prime dry-aged steaks, seafood, vegetarian options, and comfort foods “with a twist”.
Gluten-free and vegan options are available. Selected meals are organic, cage-free, free-range, and all-natural.
Winner of Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2014, 2015, and 2016, Tabernash offers a wide variety of wines by the glass and bottle from almost every country in the world.

The menu includes a wide selection of starters, including the Kung Pao Calamari, Buffalo Brussels, Wild Meatball, Grilled Bacon Steak, Tuna Poke, Barbacoa Quesadilla, Kibbles & Bits, Olive Canoe, Cajun Mushroom and Grits, and the Hummus Trio.
Under the “Magnificent Mussels” menu, you can find Meuniere, Martini, Diablo, and Guajillo.
Tabernash Tavern offers a selection of soups and salads, with a Soup of the Day, French Onion Soup, TT Salad, Da Wedge, Beet Cobb, and Caesar Salad a la Plancha.
The Today’s Showcase features Paella, Steak Zacatecas, Chicken Marsala, Veal Chop Milanese, Deconstructed Salmon Shepherd’s Pie, and Chef Al’s Bolognese.
The Steaks Menu features Certified Angus FIlet Mignon, Kobe Top Sirloin, Creekstone Prime Ribeye, Wagyu Flank Steak, and Angus Porterhouse.

Tabernash Tavern is open from 4:00-9:00pm, Thursday through Sunday, for dine-in and take out. They ask that take out orders are placed by 6:00pm.
