Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to make your autumn getaway to the Fraser/Winter Park valley. From trick or treating to scarecrow contests, exploring haunted trains, and dressing up in costumes, there’s something memorable to get everyone into the festive, spooky spirit.

Granby Scarecrow Contest (Granby)

Granby businesses compete each year to make festive , spooky, and fun scarecrow displays. This year’s theme is “Nightmare on Main Street” – an ode to all of your favorite scary films. Stroll through downtown Granby to see the scarecrows if you dare, and then vote for your favorites on the town’s Facebook page. (Voting ends on Oct. 27 at noon).

Calling all goblins, ghosts, and ghouls! Get ready for a spooky good time. Kids of all ages can trick-or-treat at businesses along Agate Avenue and at the Granby Info Center lot. Dress in your best costume and get ready for a night of family fun! KFFR will broadcast a special live Halloween show.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration (Granby Library)

The movie “Coco” will be shown along with a Dia de los Muertos craft – an Ofrenda table with orange flowers to be signed/crafted “In memory of .” (In collaboration with Barbara Luton – owner and founder of Nativa Spanish.)
