Upgraded Lift Serving Vasquez Ridge

Guests can access the Vasquez Ridge Territory this winter on the new high-speed, six-person chairlift called the Wild Spur Express. This lift will have a 2,800 person per hour capacity and include a new mid-point loading zone where skiers can load at the intersection of the Big Valley and Pioneer Express runs allowing quicker laps on upper intermediate and advanced trails. It will become the only lift to access the challenging Vasquez Ridge territory after the four-passenger Pioneer Express was retired after last year’s 2022-23 season.

“Ultimately, intermediate and advanced skiers and riders will get more on-mountain time on the terrain they want,” the resort stated in a press release.

Early Ups

The Early Ups option is also new for the 2023/24 winter season. Early Ups is a season pass or daily lift ticket add-on, offering an opportunity for intermediate and advanced riders to be the first on the mountain. A limited quantity will be available to show appreciation to early risers. Enjoy freshly groomed trails and untouched snowfall this season!

Early Ups is loaded directly to your existing season pass or daily lift ticket. To book Early Ups for a single day, you need to select the same date as your existing lift ticket when booking.

Riders will have access to terrain serviced by the Super Gauge, Gondola, and Explorer lifts. The lifts will open at 8:30am on weekdays and 8:00am on weekends. Keep in mind, only intermediate and advanced terrain can be accessed. Luckily, there are no blackout dates with the Early Ups add-on, and it’s available for all ages. Sign up soon because there are limited quantities available for season pass holders and day lift ticket add-on purchasers.

This year, intermediate and advanced skiers and riders looking for quick one-on-one tips and tricks to improve their skills can sign up for 60-Minute Pro Tips. This morning offering is available before the day on the mountain truly begins. Get fresh tracks, improve skills with an expert Ski + Ride Instructor, and gain high-value private lesson attention for a modest investment.

New Dining Options

Sundog Tap Room is a new community-centric tap room and dining experience opening this winter in the heart of the Village. The main highlight? A grand tap wall (complete with over 30 taps!) where you’ll be able to serve yourself and try local Colorado brews among standard favorites. While you’re telling stories after your day on the slopes, you can enjoy cocktails, wine, and sharable bar bites.

Additionally, more snacks will be available to you around the mountain! Say hello to four new on-mountain pop-up dining spots designed to meet you where you are when hunger strikes– meaning you can grab something quickly to fuel the rest of your day on the slopes (think grilled cheese, Philly Cheesesteaks, tacos, and quesadillas– yum!). These pop-ups are planned for the top of the new Wild Spur Express lift, the bottom of the Olympia lift, the Mary Jane base area, and another just outside Lunch Rock at the top of the Super Gauge lift. Keep an eye out for them this winter!

New Ways to Get Your Gear

Winter Park is consolidating their premium and demo rental experience in a brand new location called Zero Creek Gear House adjacent to the Gondola, making it the most convenient spot to grab your premium or demo gear and hit the lifts!

And if you’re more excited for your gear to be delivered to you, you’re in luck! Ski Butlers is coming to Winter Park this season. Here’s how it works: wherever you’re staying, Ski Butlers provides selection, fittings, gear drop-off and pick-up, and on-mountain support, creating a simple and convenient rental experience for everyone.
